Think Tank Glass Taxi, Convertible Backpack / Shoulder Bag for Large Lenses with Camera Attached. Overview:
- Part of the Think Tank Photo modular system: The Think Tank Photo modular system allows you to pick and choose exactly what items you need. Each piece of camera equipment is fitted into its own bag. When leaving for a shoot, select and carry only what items you need
- Can be used as a shoulder bag: The Glass Taxi is so small, few people will realize that it will hold up to a 500 f4 lens. It comes with the Curved Comfort shoulder strap, allowing it to be carried as a shoulder bag
- Can be used as a backpack: The Glass Taxi also has mid-weight shoulder straps for when you want to carry it as a backpack. While wearing the backpack, its small "look" disguises its function as a photo backpack
- Holds up to a 500mm f/4 lens: The Think Tank Photo Glass Taxi will hold a 500 f/4 lens. The zipper sliders are "self locking" to prevent the front flap from opening accidentally, as well as a mesh pocket on the inside flap
- Foam Collar for large glass: There is a Foam Collar that attaches via hook and loop to the back of the case that can be securely attached to a large lens. This secures the lens in the case and prevents it from wobbling back and forth

Think Tank Glass Taxi, Convertible Backpack / Shoulder Bag for Large Lenses with Camera Attached. Reviews
6 of 6 people found the following review helpful Great option for today's big lenses, July 19, 2009 By This review is from: Think Tank Glass Taxi, Convertible Backpack / Shoulder Bag for Large Lenses with Camera Attached. (Electronics) First, I want to compliment Think Tank generally on the quality of the gear they make. I have many of their products and they are all built, well, like Tanks...very rugged, well-padded, and not too expensive. Overall a good buy.
This bag fits a 70-200 2.8 with the hood mounted on a medium/large camera such as the Nikon D300, or a slightly larger lens, such as the 200 2.0 or 300 2.8 with the hood reversed. Super-sized pro cameras (D3, D3x) are a very tight fit, but can be squeezed in as well.
The interior is completely configurable using the supplied foam dividers, giving you lots of flexibility in how you carry stuff. I tend to have it setup so that I have smaller lenses face up on one side, with the large lens mounted to a body in the center. Using ThinkTank's modular components you can also strap additional items onto the sides or back of the pack in a secure way.
The straps are well padded and are easily adjusted to distribute the weight fairly... Read more
6 of 6 people found the following review helpful Great bag!, June 30, 2008 By This review is from: Think Tank Glass Taxi, Convertible Backpack / Shoulder Bag for Large Lenses with Camera Attached. (Electronics) Received this bag as a "gift" after searching for bags, and returning others. Checked out an aquitances bag and immediately knew it was what I wanted. This bag is designed to hold a wide variety of objects from single large lenses to cameras and smaller lenses. The bag easily holds my Nikon D80 with 28-70/2.8 attached as well as some other smaller lenses and an SB600 flash. A small pocket inside for holding a card wallet, filters, etc. Side mounting of a tripod/monopod is easy. Adjustable straps with METAL connections as opposed to plastic found on many other bags.
Definitely glad I found this bag and I'd highly recommend it.
edit: Been using this bag for quite some time now. This is has become my "daily carry" type of bag. I'm able to put my D300 with grip and 70-200 attached in this bag, as well as an SB900 flash, a 28-70, and a few other random items for the day in this bag. I carry this when I go out and just need a couple of items and can't realistically... Read more
3 of 3 people found the following review helpful Excellent long glass lens case, August 16, 2009 By Amazon Verified Purchase This review is from: Think Tank Glass Taxi, Convertible Backpack / Shoulder Bag for Large Lenses with Camera Attached. (Electronics) In my opinion, this is the best long lens case out in the market today. It's just the right size, not too large and yet not too small. The build quality is first rate, and the padding is just right to protect the equipment. Think Tank also includes a rain cover and a bunch of dividers. I mainly use it to hold my pro body camera (Canon 1D Mark III, and Nikon D3) with the 300mm 2.8 lens attached, in this configuration this is about all that the bag will hold and so all the dividers are removed. When using smaller lenses (e.g. 70-200mm 2.8) you can carry several lenses and then use the dividers to partition the case. I use this case to transport my camera with lens attached out to the shoot location. However, it does have backpack straps so that you can carry it with you during a shooting hike.
